DOWNTOWN BOYS COVER
"DANCING IN THE DARK"
A first listen to the bonus track from their new record Full Communism, out May 4 on Don Giovanni

Bruce Springsteen is a total inspiration in Downtown Boys. His lyrics are poetry that communicate the desperation and desire to fight, fail, and keep doing it all over again, in hope that we are doing something, anything, with the conditions of the status quo. Born to run, we all love Springsteen individually and see him as someone who has this amazing emotional analysis of the (White, we know) working class. "Dancing in the Dark" was a natural choice, because it communicates the same message that Zubeyda references in Bros Fall Back, the feeling of dancing amidst pain, hope, love; adoring what music, feeling, and you can use to start that fire to create the heat we all need. The lyrics for this song inspire a lot of our lyrics and our ideas. It's totally true: "can't start a fire / worrying about your little world falling apart."
