Ride the Snake is a collective of four friends from Boston, Massachusetts and Portland, Oregon who release vinyl records, make zines, and book shows. Although we are not stuck in the past (by virtue of the fact that we continue to discover new bands that captivate and excite us), we also treasure the days when “indie” was a legitimate and vibrant, DIY, grassroots subculture that thrived completely outside of the mainstream. We take inspiration from labels such as K, Sarah, early Rough Trade, and bands like the Ex, bIG fLAME, and Dog Faced Hermans. Overall, we are record collectors whose goal is to release records that we would also like to buy. This virtual mix tape is a collection of songs form our back catalog.
